Mrs. Ross |
DesignerProblem Statement |
Me (Nikita Fradkin) Mrs. Ross is attending a Halloween party and does not have a Halloween costume. She needs to find something that will help her start off her costume.
|
Design Statement |
To solve this dilemma I am creating Mrs. Ross a DC Green Lantern Corps inspired ring with interchangeable faces. This ring will match with any corps that Mrs. Ross decides to ally with, and will serve as a cool Halloween costume. |
Constaints |
This ring will take approximately 1 day for researching, this includes; becoming familiar with the lantern corps insignia's, researching and finding tutorials for creating a ring. 2-3 days of learning/experimenting with inventor tools for specific ring shaped designs. 1-2 days to design the final look of the ring and each insignia that can attach to it. 1-2 days to create the technical drawings for each insignia and the ring body. 1-2 weeks to compose the presentation files including each insignia face and the ring band. 1-2 days to finalize a reflection of the entire project. An estimated maximum total of 24 days, 3 weeks. This ring will be the approximate size of a regular finger ring but will have a wider and thicker band to support itself from damage. A very low budget is in mind for this project considering its size. A ring band will surely be under one cubic inch but each insignia will add up to approximately 1.5-2 cubic inches of model material. As for the support material, very little is required and will most likely be majorly used for the ring band production itself. The budget ranges from 1-2 cubic inches of model material ($4.20-$8.40) and possibly 0.5 cubic inches of support material ($2.10) with a maximum total of $10.50.

Deliverables |
Presented items will be: 2 rough illustrator sketches with orthographic views of the ring band, folders of organized part and assembly files located within the design lab drive, technical drawings of the ring band and each insignia, and organized locations for presentation on my website including all drawings, screenshots of all of the above and a final reflection.
